Earthquakes in Venezuela: A Tragic Toll of 32 Dead and Hundreds Injured
Venezuela has been struck by two very powerful earthquakes. These natural disasters have caused the deaths of at least 32 people and left more than 700 injured. The tremors occurred late in the day, causing great panic among the local population.
The first tremor, with a magnitude of 7.2, occurred around 6 p.m. Just 39 seconds later, a second even stronger earthquake, with a magnitude of 7.5, shook the region again. These two successive events made the situation particularly dangerous for residents.
Material damage is significant in the affected areas. Many buildings were damaged or destroyed by the force of the tremors. Emergency services are currently working to help victims and search for potential survivors under the rubble.
Local authorities have asked the population to remain vigilant in the face of possible aftershocks. Hospitals in the region are mobilized to treat the hundreds of injured people arriving after this double disaster.
For the moment, the toll remains provisional and could rise in the coming hours. Solidarity is being organized at the national level to provide food, water, and medical care to those who have lost everything.
