Between Euromillions, the 2026 World Cup and television, today’s news combines money, sport and entertainment
The day’s most notable news concerns the Euromillions draw for Tuesday, May 5, 2026. The €49 million jackpot was not won. The winning numbers were 3, 4, 8, 20 and 31, with stars 6 and 8. Even though there was no big winner for the main prize pool, a Belgian player still won a significant amount, according to the media outlet.
In sport, with just over a month to go before the start of the 2026 Football World Cup, some organisers and tourism professionals say they are disappointed by the current figures. Hotel room bookings are not meeting expectations in several American cities that are due to host the competition.
The situation seems particularly difficult in Kansas City, Missouri, where bookings for the months of June and July are even lower than usual. Other cities, such as Boston, are also mentioned among the places where results have not yet reached the expected level. This trend is worrying some hoteliers, who were counting on the event to attract many visitors.
On the television side, the programme “Koh-Lanta, les reliques du destin” broadcast on Tuesday evening offered a very tense episode. The show did not break a record, but it was marked by two eliminations, which heightened the suspense until the end.
At the camp, tensions continued to rise between the contestants. Zakariya expressed his doubts and began to think that the girls might have formed an alliance. This atmosphere of mistrust added pressure to the adventure.
The episode also highlighted an important challenge and the question of individual performances, particularly surrounding Daniel. Viewers were wondering whether he would break a record for consecutive individual victories. Even without a record being announced here, the show delivered on its promises in terms of strategy, competition and twists.
