Racist attack on a hijab-wearing woman in Marzahn!
Two women were subjected to a racist attack in the Berlin-Marzahn district, according to police reports. They stated that an unidentified woman insulted two young women with racist remarks and physically attacked one of them on Saturday afternoon.
The first victim, a 24-year-old woman wearing a hijab, was accompanied by her 22-year-old friend and a 27-year-old man. The attacker began to insult the hijab-wearing woman with racist remarks, then spat in her face and hit her with a shoe.
When the victim tried to document the incident using her mobile phone, the assailant snatched her bag from her and threw it on the ground repeatedly. Attempts by her friend and the young man to intervene were unsuccessful, and the friend was also subjected to insults.
The police reported that the assailant attempted to hit the second young woman with a shoe as well, but she dodged the blow. After that, the assailant fled the scene.
The young veiled woman sustained minor injuries, but she did not require medical treatment. The State Protection Department of the police has begun investigating the incident as a crime with a racial background.
