Women push man to the ground – victim dies from his head injuries
A 77-year-old man has died after being pushed to the ground during a confrontation with two unidentified women in Illingen, Saarland.
According to police, the incident happened around 3:30 p.m. on Friday in a residential neighborhood containing both single-family and multi-family homes. The elderly man suffered severe head injuries after falling during the altercation.
Initial investigations suggest the two women had been going door-to-door in the area, allegedly asking residents for donations. Witnesses said they repeatedly knocked on doors and rang doorbells persistently, drawing attention from several neighbors. It remains unclear what cause they were collecting money for.
Police believe the women behaved suspiciously outside an apartment building, prompting the 77-year-old neighbor to open his front door and confront them. During the encounter, the women reportedly fled and pushed the man to the ground in the process.
The victim was rushed to hospital with critical injuries but died the following day. Authorities are still investigating why the man specifically approached the women and what exactly led to the physical confrontation.
The suspects remain at large. Police described one woman as being between 30 and 40 years old, while the other is believed to be around 60. Both are described as slim and approximately 150 to 160 centimeters tall. Investigators are urging witnesses and local residents to come forward with any information.
