He rented a car, lost his money, and committed to payments for two years.
Viennese citizen Alp Aslan did not expect that renting a truck for one day would turn into a financial nightmare that would take all his savings. Alp Aslan, a family man from Vienna, rented a Ford Custom truck from 123-Transporter last Wednesday for about 200 euros, intending to transport some furniture. However, he was surprised while driving the following Thursday to receive consecutive notifications from the bank indicating repeated financial deductions.
Within a few hours, amounts were deducted from him 41 times, totaling around 2,400 euros. The justifications provided by the company included alleged violations such as speeding or smoking inside the car. Once his bank account was empty, the deductions stopped. As if that wasn't enough, the car broke down in Poland, and Alp Aslan had to bear the towing costs himself. Today, the man finds himself in a difficult situation, not knowing how he will meet his obligations or support his family. So far, no one knows if he will be able to recover his money.
In a statement to Heute, Alpb Aslan expressed his shock, saying: "I was only relieved that I no longer had money in the account, so they could no longer withdraw more. How could this happen in Austria?"
His suffering did not end here. The car is still parked near him, broken and unusable, and it is said to have been banned by the company. The company told him that they would come to collect it within two days, but he is required to pay a high fine. Worse still, he later learned that he had unknowingly signed a supposed subscription that forces him to pay 50 euros a month for two years.
The newspaper Heute tried to contact the company 123-Transporter for a comment on the incident, but has not received any response so far.
