Step by step: How to apply for professional support for women in Vienna up to 12,000 euros
The city of Vienna, through the Vienna Workers' Support Fund (Waff), offers training and education funding programs designed to support women in developing their career paths, changing fields of work, or pursuing further studies. These programs include financial support for vocational courses or university studies, which can reach up to €12,000 in some cases.
The application process is structured and always begins with a mandatory career consultation before submitting the funding request. According to the Austrian Press Agency (APA) , this career consultation is the essential step in determining the most suitable program and support for each applicant.
The first step: Booking a professional consultation appointment. The application process begins by booking a free consultation appointment with the Waff Fund. This can be done through the fund's official website: https://www.waff.at
Appointments can also be booked by phone through the Fund's advisory center. During this session, the applicant's professional situation is assessed, including current employment or job-seeking status, and the training or study she wishes to pursue is discussed to determine her eligibility for financial support.
Step Two: Choosing the Right Program. Following the consultation session, WAF consultants will determine the most suitable program for the applicant based on her professional situation and future plans. Available programs include:
The Vocational Training and Rehabilitation Support Program provides funding for vocational and educational courses that help develop professional skills, and the support usually amounts to about 5,000 euros.
The study support program at Fachhochschule colleges allows women to pursue studies in fields such as technology, digitalization, or sustainability while working. Support can reach up to €12,000 for a bachelor's degree or up to €9,000 for a master's degree.
