A man is taken to the hospital after encountering a group launching fireworks at a house.
A 40-year-old man was injured while trying to stop a group of young people from throwing fireworks inside a house in Boxtel, North Brabant, during New Year's Eve celebrations. The incident occurred between 12:15 and 12:30 AM in a residential complex on Beukendreef street.
According to police reports, the youths first threw stones through the windows before launching fireworks inside the house, causing a fire to break out. The man, who was visiting the resident with his girlfriend, tried to intervene to stop the group but was assaulted.
Several young men kicked the man, and it is believed that he lost consciousness for a brief period. The man was taken to the hospital by emergency services for treatment.
The local fire brigade has extinguished the fire. Authorities are now investigating the case, which involves both arson and assault.
The police are asking witnesses to provide their information to help identify the perpetrators and provide more details about the incident.
