Supermarket break-in: 15-year-old boy arrested with a knife
A 15-year-old boy was arrested in Vienna after allegedly breaking into a supermarket in the Favoriten district on Monday evening. The incident occurred around 9 PM when reports indicated that the teenager forced his way into the store and attempted to steal some food items.
Store investigators quickly noticed the break-in and managed to stop the boy before he could escape. They immediately notified the police, who arrived at the scene and conducted a personal search. During the search, officers confiscated a folding knife from the teenager, who turned out to be a Syrian citizen.
And near the supermarket, the police also found a bag full of food items, which was confirmed to have been stolen from the store. The presence of the knife raised concerns about whether the teenager intended to use it during the attempted robbery.
The boy has been arrested provisionally and placed in custody. Authorities are currently investigating all the details of the case, including the sequence of events and whether the teenager has committed similar offenses in the past.
