Germany warns its citizens: Leave Iran now before it's too late
Germany has once again urged its citizens to leave Iran immediately, warning that the security situation is rapidly deteriorating and could spiral out of control at any moment.
The German Embassy in Tehran (Duitse ambassade in Teheran) renewed its travel warning on Friday, strongly advising all German nationals to leave Iran. Officials emphasized that travel to the country is highly discouraged as regional tensions continue to intensify.
In an official statement, the embassy described the security situation in Iran and the wider region as “extremely volatile and very tense.” It warned that further military escalation cannot be ruled out and that clashes could erupt unexpectedly.
German authorities also cautioned that air travel may be disrupted without notice. Flight cancellations and even temporary airspace closures are possible, which could make it difficult for citizens to depart once conditions worsen.
The embassy further acknowledged that it is currently able to provide only limited consular assistance on the ground. This could severely restrict the help available to German citizens if the crisis deepens.
The renewed warning comes after Donald Trump stated that he is “considering” a limited military strike to pressure Iran into an agreement. At the same time, the United States has been increasing its military presence in the region, adding to fears of a broader confrontation.
