Vienna police dismantle a drug gang in the tenth district
Vienna police arrested four individuals suspected of being involved in drug trafficking in the Keplerplatz area of the Favoriten district during two separate operations on Wednesday afternoon.
Street Crime Unit (EGS) officers managed to arrest two Syrian nationals aged 31 and 17 at 14:30, after suspecting them of selling narcotics. Just four hours later, two Algerians aged 28 and 30 were arrested on the same charge in the same area.
During the search of the detainees, the police found several bags containing about 4 grams of cocaine and 72 grams of cannabis, in addition to cash amounts divided in a way that suggests their use in drug trafficking.
Based on the instructions of the public prosecutor in Wien, three of the defendants were transferred to prison, while the Syrian minor was released with a case registered against him.
