Tragedy in Rotterdam: Man killed by American Bully XL dogs in his home

A man died in Rotterdam after being attacked by two American Bully XL dogs inside his home. Police reported that their officers had to shoot one of the dogs to reach the victim, but attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.

According to the victim's daughter, the attack occurred when her father tried to break up a fight between the two dogs. The two dogs, which were about nine months old, were killed in the yard after the incident. One of the dogs was owned by the man himself, while the other belonged to his granddaughter.

The daughter told the AD newspaper: "They were fierce and fighting dogs that my father tried to keep apart." She added, describing her father: "He was a very kind father. A man who treated everyone with kindness. And when my mother passed away, all the neighbors took care of him. This shows how much he was loved and appreciated in the neighborhood."

The police confirmed the incident in a statement on platform X, stating that they cannot share additional details about what was released on Saturday evening, and that no new information is expected to be published in the near future.

It is noted that the American Bully XL dog has been officially listed among the dangerous breeds in the Netherlands since 2017. This breed has been associated with several fatal incidents globally, which has recently led the United Kingdom to impose strict restrictions on its ownership and breeding.
