A Dutch police officer and organist have been dismissed due to allegations of sexual assault on minors.
A Dutch police officer and famous organist from Wierden, Andre N., has been dismissed following allegations of sexual assault against minors, according to Omroep Brabant. The officer is 34 years old and worked for the Rotterdam police, and is accused of assaulting a 15-year-old boy and raping three boys aged between 16 and 18 in several locations, including Wierden, Zeeland, and Vleuten.
Authorities confirmed that Andrei N. was dismissed due to 'gross negligence in the performance of duty.' The relevant authorities are also investigating allegations that he illegally accessed police systems and was involved in an incident where a detainee was injured, raising questions about his criminal behavior and professional conduct.
Andrei N. was suspended from work in August of last year after a complaint was filed regarding inappropriate sexual behavior. At that time, the police described the allegations as a 'potential crime during private time.' He sometimes played the organ while wearing the police uniform, which made the case of wide interest.
The criminal investigations have now progressed to the stage of formal prosecution, and Andrei N. is scheduled to appear in court. He was arrested in Altiana on April 14 on charges of committing sexual offenses and violating official duties, according to the Public Prosecutor's Office (OM).
Authorities confirmed that a total of four complaints have been filed against him. The case continues to evolve, highlighting the importance of public trust in law enforcement agencies and the seriousness of the allegations against a currently serving police officer.
