Many Dutch people fear that the conflict with Iran could escalate into a world war.
Many people in the Netherlands fear that the Israeli and American attacks on Iran could trigger a much larger conflict, possibly even a new world war, according to a survey conducted by RTL Nieuws among 15,000 members of its panel.
The reactions of residents in Nederland (Netherlands) are sharply divided. About four in ten respondents consider the attacks a positive development, saying they support efforts to confront the Iranian regime and prevent the country from becoming a nuclear power.
However, nearly the same number of people expressed strong concerns about the strikes. They fear the attacks could permanently damage the existing world order, arguing that if powerful nations can attack other countries without consequences, it may lead to further global instability.
Only 17 percent of respondents believe the bombing of Iran has made the world safer. Meanwhile, 80 percent said they are worried about peace and stability in the Middle East, and nearly half fear the conflict could eventually escalate into a new world war.
Amid the rising tensions, Frankrijk (France) has asked Nederland (Netherlands) to send a naval frigate to the Middellandse Zee (Mediterranean Sea) for support. However, most respondents oppose involvement, with nearly two-thirds saying the Netherlands should not intervene in the conflict in any way.
