60 euros per month for each child starting this month for low-income families
Starting from July 2025, many families in Austria will receive new financial support of 60 euros per month for each child, amounting to 720 euros over a full year. This support is intended for families with an annual gross income not exceeding 25,725 euros, which is approximately 1,837 euros per month.
This support particularly benefits single parents, and this amount is considered a replacement for the previous monthly contribution that was paid in 2023 and 2024, amounting to 60 euros per month for each child, which was granted if one of the parents received social assistance or unemployment benefits. This previous support ended at the end of 2024.
The new allowance, known as Kinderzuschlag, is granted for a period of 12 months, from July 2025 to June 2026.
It is automatically disbursed without the need to submit an application, and it coincides with the disbursement of the Kinderabsetzbetrag and Familienbeihilfe amounts. The amount is transferred monthly directly to the accounts of the beneficiary families.
