4 killed in plane crash in Salzburg

A tragic aviation accident shook the Pinzgau region in Austria, where a small plane that took off from Oberschleißheim near Munich (Bavaria) crashed on July 4 near Kaprun in a rugged area. The accident resulted in the death of four people, according to the German newspaper "Bild."

The accident occurred near the Gerlosstraße B165 road, although the weather conditions were good at the time of the incident. However, the plane caught fire immediately upon impact with the ground, and no survivors have been found so far. The accident also led to a fire in the surrounding forest where firefighting teams worked to extinguish the flames in the wreckage of the plane and control the forest fire. A spokesperson for the firefighting teams said, "It was a small forest fire."

The area surrounding the crash site has been widely closed off due to the possibility of pyrotechnic emergency release devices that were intended to deploy a rescue parachute. The local fire chief, Klaus Portnkirchner, told the "Kurier": "We have not seen any parachute hanging in the trees so far."

Investigations are still ongoing to determine the causes of the incident, and the identities of the four victims have not yet been officially confirmed.
