Threat of depriving the leader of the 'Green Youth' from entering the parliament
The President of the German Parliament, Julia Klöckner, threatened the leader of the "Green Youth" Jette Nitzart with punitive measures for wearing a jacket with an anti-police slogan. In an official letter addressed to the "Greens" party, it was indicated that the penalties could range from a monetary fine to revocation of her access permit to the parliament (Hausausweis).
The reason behind this threat was a post on Instagram, in which Yetta Nitsart appeared wearing a hat that said "Eat the rich" and a jacket with the letters "ACAB", which stands for "All Cops Are Bastards". She wrote in the post: "On my way to the Bundestag". This slogan is often used in leftist and far-left circles.
Nitzart attached a picture of herself with a sarcastic question: "What does Julia Klöckner see as worse: an ACAB sweater or an Eat the rich hat?". Despite criticism from within her party, Nitzart refused to apologize or back down.
The official letter signed by the Director of the Bundestag, Paul Goutke, was addressed to the political leader of the "Greens" Bega Idalatian, and to the head of the first parliamentary group, Irène Mihalyk. It stated that wearing these clothes inside the Bundestag constitutes a violation of its internal regulations, which could expose Nitzart to penalties. The letter emphasized that this behavior represents a deliberate provocation and constitutes an insult to the police officers working in the parliament.
The letter also urged the "Greens" party to reconsider their request on the basis of which Nitzart obtained the entry permit, emphasizing that additional measures, including the withdrawal of the permit, would not be ruled out in case of repeated violations. According to what was reported by the "Bild" newspaper, a spokesperson for the "Greens" stated that they would respond to the letter within the usual timeframe.
