Warning of a larger economic crisis after problems in air travel
Experts are warning of serious consequences for air travel if a war with Iran lasts longer. According to reports, tens of thousands of flights could be canceled. That would directly affect many travelers, airlines, and airports.
Russian entrepreneur and investor Kirill Dmitriev said the problems in aviation could be only the beginning. He spoke of a "shock" for the industry and warned that the crisis could also spread to other parts of the economy. These include, for example, trade, tourism, and supply chains.
If many flights are canceled, this could not only make travel more difficult. The transport of goods could also become slower and more expensive. Companies would then have to expect higher costs and longer waiting times. Regions that depend heavily on international air traffic would be particularly affected.
How severe the consequences will ultimately be depends above all on how long the conflict lasts. At present, there are mainly warnings and initial assessments from experts. They are closely monitoring the situation and expect additional economic problems if it escalates further.
The current development shows how closely air travel and the global economy are connected. A prolonged crisis could therefore affect not only airlines, but also many other areas of daily and economic life.
