Austrians arrested after drugs and money found in an apartment in Vienna
A court-ordered eviction of an apartment in the Margareten area of Vienna took a serious turn after a court executor found large quantities of drugs inside the apartment, along with cash, prompting her to immediately notify the police.
Following the report, teams from the criminal police arrived at the location, where two Austrian men aged 31 and 41 were arrested inside the apartment. During the initial investigations, one of the detainees, a 31-year-old Austrian, stated that he had cultivated cannabis in another apartment in the Donaustadt area for personal use.
According to the results of the inspections, the police seized more than 16 kilograms of cannabis, in addition to about 100 grams of cocaine, as well as a cash amount in the tens of thousands of euros. Equipment and tools used for growing cannabis were also found in the two apartments.
According to what was reported by the newspaper Hojitah, the two detained Austrians were placed in a correctional facility in Vienna by order of the public prosecutor, while investigations continue to uncover the circumstances of the case and the possibilities of a wider drug trafficking network.
