Reward of 2000 euros: Who knows this gas station thief who was riding a motorcycle?
Authorities in Vienna are searching for a masked thief who targeted gas stations this summer in Vienna-Simmering and Wolfpassing an der Hochleithen in Lower Austria. The incidents occurred on July 23 around 1:30 AM in Vienna, and on August 26 around 4:30 AM in the Mistelbach area.
The suspect wore a black mask, a black motorcycle jacket, dark shoes, and gray and black work gloves. He entered the stations demanding cash and threatened the employees with a gun. It is still unclear whether the weapon was real. He also carried a combat knife and stored the stolen money in a black backpack. After the Vienna robbery, he fled on a motorcycle, causing damage estimated in four-figure amounts in euros.
The Vienna Criminal Investigation Department (Landeskriminalamt Wien) has taken over the investigation and urges anyone with relevant information, including anonymous tips, to contact them at 01/31310-33800. Authorities are particularly focused on sightings of the suspect before, during, and after the theft.
To encourage public cooperation, the Vienna Chamber of Commerce has announced a reward of 2,000 euros for information leading to the arrest of the perpetrator. The police urge anyone who has seen the suspect or has any other details that may assist in the investigation to report them immediately.
The police emphasize the importance of public assistance in quickly locating the suspect to prevent further incidents. All information will be handled with complete confidentiality, and authorities stress the need to exercise caution if confronted with the suspect.
