Van der Plas: "Wilders betrays the coalition and the voters"
The leader of the BBB party, Caroline van der Plas, expressed her strong anger towards the leader of the PVV party, Geert Wilders, due to his decision to withdraw from the government coalition, describing his behavior as irresponsible. She said: "You can't talk about anything with him. He posts his decisions directly on Twitter. You can't run a country this way."
She added that she would have preferred Wilders to resume dialogue with his coalition partners before announcing his party's withdrawal on Tuesday morning. She continued: "He does not put the interests of the Netherlands first, but the interests of Geert Wilders. He is breaking his promise to voters, as he pledged a stricter immigration policy, and all of that will not be achieved now."
Van der Plas mentioned that the BBB party was trying to convince Wilders that all his demands could be met through his party's asylum minister, Margot Blok, but she pointed out that "it doesn't matter to him, he had made his decision beforehand."
It announced via platform X that the BBB party will hold an emergency meeting on Tuesday morning with its ministers to discuss the developments of the situation.
