Sweden and Germany extradite suspects in the murder of 3 people over cocaine
In a new development in the case of the triple shooting that shook the town of Oosterhout in the Noord-Brabant province at the end of March, the Dutch police announced on Wednesday the arrest of three people in both Sweden and Germany.
A 24-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman were arrested in Sweden on Tuesday evening, while the third suspect, a 28-year-old man, was apprehended in Germany. All three hold Swedish nationality, and efforts are currently underway to extradite them to the Netherlands.
The crime occurred in a residential area just before 4 PM on March 28, when three men were shot while inside their cars, resulting in the immediate death of two of them, while the third died a month later in the hospital.
According to reports from the AD newspaper, the perpetrators fled the scene using electric bikes heading towards the city of Breda after leaving their car.
Reports indicated that the shooting occurred following a dispute over who should pay for a large shipment of cocaine seized by the authorities. However, relatives of the victims reported that the crime may have been a mistake, and that their family members were killed by mistake.
