An unemployed Austrian runs a large drug farm inside his house.
The police arrested a 56-year-old Austrian man after suspecting him of growing drugs and selling them on a large scale inside his home in southeastern Styria.
According to what the police announced, the investigations with the man began last autumn, following several reports and anonymous messages that prompted the security services to monitor him for a long time before carrying out the raid.
On January 16th, the police raided the suspect's house after obtaining a court order, where he showed full cooperation and confessed during the initial investigations to having cultivated narcotic substances inside his home.
During the search operation, the police found about six and a half kilograms of marijuana, three hundred and thirty pieces of LSD, in addition to seven grams of cocaine. They also found about a hundred marijuana plants that were in the flowering stage.
Investigations revealed that the house contained three indoor facilities dedicated to drug cultivation, two small and one large, distributed within the upper floor of the building.
According to police reports, the man admitted that he had been growing drugs since 2021, in collaboration with a 58-year-old friend, producing approximately seventeen kilograms of marijuana during that time, with part of it consumed and the other part sold for financial profit.
The police reported that the suspected accomplice is still at large, while search operations continue for him. The detained individual is also being investigated for fraud in obtaining social assistance, as devices and digital data belonging to him have been seized for forensic examination.
The man was arrested and referred to the competent judicial authorities to complete the legal procedures against him.
