Unusual warm weather hits the Netherlands before a cold wave
The Netherlands is expected to experience unusual weather fluctuations this week, starting with mild spring temperatures before suddenly turning to sharp cold by the end of the week, according to the latest forecasts from weeronline.
The week starts gently on Monday, with sunny periods and temperatures around 11 degrees Celsius, before rain falls late in the day. After that, dry weather will prevail for several days — good news for the children who will celebrate St. Martin on Tuesday evening, as temperatures will remain mild between 9 and 11 degrees Celsius.
In the middle of the week, the weather will feel more like spring than November. Temperatures are expected to rise on Wednesday to between 14 and 16 degrees Celsius with some sunny periods, while Thursday is expected to be warmer, with temperatures possibly reaching 18 degrees — about double the usual average for November, which typically ranges between 9 and 10 degrees.
But this warm spell will not last long. Starting Friday, meteorologists warn of a sudden change in the weather as the boundary between warm and cold air masses moves across the region. This could lead to significant weather differences from one area to another — while some areas may experience warm conditions reaching 18 degrees, temperatures may drop sharply in other areas accompanied by rain.
By the weekend, the Netherlands is expected to feel a noticeable chill, marking the end of the unusual warm period that preceded winter.
