Teenagers from Vienna are accused of theft, assault, and abuse, and videos of them have been filmed and posted online.
Authorities in Vienna have arrested nine teenagers aged between 14 and 17 in connection with a horrific case of theft, assault, and sexual harassment. The incidents occurred in October 2025 in Donaustadt, where three teenagers aged between 15 and 16 were attacked. According to reports, the perpetrators filmed their actions with their mobile phones and posted the videos on social media.
The victims sustained serious injuries during the attack, which is believed to have been motivated by revenge. Among the suspects are three girls, and the group includes teenagers holding Turkish, Afghan, Austrian, and Iranian nationalities. Authorities have conducted intensive investigations that lasted for weeks to identify the perpetrators.
Currently, five detained teenagers are in custody: a 14-year-old from Turkey, a 15-year-old from Afghanistan, two 17-year-olds from Austria, and a 19-year-old from Iran. They face charges of theft, physical assault, and sexual harassment.
Four other suspects have been released, including a 16-year-old Austrian boy, a 14-year-old Slovak boy, and two Austrian girls aged 15 and 17, by order of the public prosecutor's office in Vienna. Investigations into their involvement are still ongoing.
The case has sparked widespread public outrage in Vienna, not only due to the brutality of the assaults but also because the assaults were recorded and published online, highlighting the troubling behavior of the youth gang and raising concerns about the impact of social media on acts of violence.
