The leader of the VVD party pushes for quick negotiations and warns against "time-wasting steps".

The leader of the VVD party, Dilan Yeşilgöz, expressed her dissatisfaction with what she described as "time-wasting intermediate steps" in the ongoing process of forming the Dutch government. Her statement came on platform X in response to a report by political explorer Wouter Koolmees, which suggested that the D66 and CDA parties hold negotiations for three weeks to draft a preliminary coalition agreement.

Yasmin Çelik said: "The Netherlands does not have time to waste; it is time to form a government that delivers on what it promised to the voters." She confirmed her desire to form a center-right government, emphasizing her firm rejection of an alliance with the GroenLinks-PvdA party, a position she has maintained since the election campaign and during the initial exploratory talks.

On his part, Koolmees, a member of the D66 party and appointed as an explorer (verkenner), acknowledged that political parties usually stick to their positions immediately after elections. However, he urged them to move beyond narrow party interests and take responsibility for the greater good of the Netherlands, emphasizing that cooperation within Den Haag (The Hague) and beyond is essential for stability and progress.

In his report, Kolmes advised against excluding any potential alliances between the D66, GroenLinks-PvdA, VVD, CDA, and JA21 parties. He suggested that D66 and CDA start formal talks, noting that these two parties do not exclude anyone and are not excluded by any other party.

For his part, D66 leader Rob Jetten expressed hope that talks with CDA leader Ponterbal would lead to broader cooperation including GroenLinks-PvdA and VVD. He called on Schilghoz to reconsider her position, emphasizing that the decision to break the political deadlock "rests entirely on the shoulders of the VVD party."
