A fine of 832,500 euros imposed on a recruitment agency and a client due to illegal workers at the Dutch Grand Prix.

A recruitment agency in Rotterdam and its client company have been fined a total of €832,500 for employing 60 foreign workers without permits during the last Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort. The labor inspectorate imposed €427,500 on the recruitment agency and €405,000 on the company hiring the workers.

Most of the workers, the majority of whom are from Colombia, were employed in hospitality and cooking fields, including dishwashing, kitchen assistance, and other food service tasks during the event, according to the inspection report.

The Labor Inspectorate stated: "The hiring company failed to verify whether foreign workers were legally authorized to work," pointing to the responsibility of companies to ensure compliance with Dutch labor laws.

Both companies received a "preventive suspension warning," allowing the inspection authority to halt their activities if similar violations occur in the next five years.

During this year's Dutch Grand Prix, inspections revealed violations at another employment agency. Investigations are still ongoing, indicating that labor authorities continue to closely monitor temporary employment at major events.
