The first autumn storm hits Germany: strong winds in the north and 27 degrees in the south

Germany is experiencing its first autumn storm of the season, with stormy weather bringing harsh conditions in the north while the south continues to enjoy late summer warmth. According to the German Weather Service (DWD), strong winds, rain showers, and variable skies are expected to dominate the coming days, especially along the North Sea. Meteorologist Nico Bauer warned that exposed coastal areas may experience severe gusts, making the weather conditions particularly unpleasant.

Despite the stormy weather, temperatures will remain relatively mild. On Monday, the maximum will range between 18 and 24 degrees Celsius, with the possibility of reaching 27 degrees Celsius in the south near the Alps — the last touch of summer before cold weather prevails. Along with the warmth, scattered showers and local thunderstorms are expected.

By Tuesday, unstable weather will continue in the north. The North Sea region will experience heavy rain showers and local thunderstorms, while the winds remain strong to stormy. With temperatures dropping compared to Monday, more autumn-like conditions will prevail across most of the country. The Alps may see rainfall, while drier conditions are expected in the south and east with periods of sunshine.

In the middle of the week, the changeable weather will continue. More rain is expected in northern and central Germany, while the southwest will remain relatively dry with some sunny periods. Although the winds will ease somewhat, strong gusts will still be felt in several areas.

Looking ahead to the coming days, unstable weather will continue in the northern half of Germany during the second half of the week. Meteorologists say that the weather may gradually improve by the weekend, with a chance for longer periods of calm and pleasant conditions following a stormy autumn start.
