Daughter nearly killed - father follows her to the doctor
A 15-year-old girl in the Donaustadt area of Vienna was brutally attacked by her father on Tuesday evening, first being assaulted with his fist and then with a knife. The teenager collapsed with serious injuries in front of a residential building.
A local general practitioner with a clinic in the same building intervened immediately, and he likely saved the girl's life. Amazingly, the father followed her into the examination room, pretending to be concerned, where the police were able to arrest him.
The teenager was stabbed multiple times in the head, neck, and back, in addition to a deep wound in her hand. Despite her injuries, she managed to alert the authorities, shouting: "It's my father, it's my father," before he was arrested.
Authorities confirmed that the father, a 50-year-old Afghan man, has been legally residing in Vienna for over 20 years and has no prior criminal record. The police continue to investigate the incident, conducting interviews with the victim and the suspect.
Preliminary reports suggest that the attack may have been motivated by the father's rejection of his daughter's alleged relationship with a young man, which he could not accept due to his traditional beliefs. The presumption of innocence remains in place as investigations continue.
