Today is the hottest day in 2025 in the Netherlands!
Today, Friday, the highest temperatures of the year are being recorded in the Netherlands, reaching between 25 and 32 degrees Celsius, according to Weeronline reports. Very sunny weather is expected with a chance of light rain showers or thunderstorms in some areas, especially during the evening hours.
Although this day is the hottest in 2025 so far, it does not set a new record for June 13, as the temperature reached 34.0 degrees in Volkel and 33.3 degrees in Deelen in 1964, while the national record in De Bilt at that time was 31.5 degrees.
In the evening, thunderstorms and heavy rain will develop in the southwest and move northward toward the western half of the country. These rains are expected to be severe, accompanied by hail, strong winds, and large amounts of rain in a short period.
Saturday will be another hot day, with temperatures ranging from 23 degrees in western Zeeland to 32 degrees on the eastern border, mostly sunny weather with local showers in the afternoon. Coastal areas will experience moderate heat between 25 and 27 degrees. Cumulus clouds will develop in the second half of the day, turning into rain and thunderstorms, which will continue overnight.
Starting from Sunday, temperatures will gradually decrease to range between 19 and 23 degrees, with pleasant sunny summer weather and little rain. This calm and moderate weather is expected to continue throughout the next week, with long periods of sunshine and a slight chance of rain, and daily temperatures ranging between 21 and 26 degrees.
