15 people were arrested, including four minors, on charges of spreading propaganda for the Islamic State organization.
Dutch police have arrested 15 people, including four minors, for spreading propaganda linked to Islamitische Staat (Islamic State) and encouraging terrorist violence through social media.
The suspects are between 16 and 53 years old. Arrests were carried out across Nederland (Netherlands), with the highest number, four, in Den Haag (The Hague). Authorities said the alleged ringleader had already been arrested on January 20.
According to the Openbaar Ministerie (Public Prosecution Department), the group was mainly active on TikTok and other platforms, where they distributed videos and messages promoting Islamitische Staat. Three suspects hold Dutch nationality, while the others are Syrian nationals.
The investigation began in 2025 after police discovered a TikTok account sharing IS propaganda with Dutch subtitles. Several videos reportedly called on viewers to join the terrorist organization’s fight, while others glorified martyrdom. Some clips were watched more than 100,000 times.
Prosecutors said the suspects face charges of inciting terrorist acts, spreading terrorist propaganda, and membership in a terrorist organization. The Openbaar Ministerie warned that further arrests are possible as the investigation continues.
