Military aircraft crashes in India: Five crew members dead
A serious accident has occurred in northeastern India. A military transport aircraft crashed in the state of Assam. According to initial information, five crew members lost their lives in the accident.
The aircraft was in service for the Indian Army when it crashed for reasons that are still unclear. Rescue teams rushed immediately to the accident site in a rural region of the state. Unfortunately, they could do nothing more for five of the occupants, as they had already passed away at the crash site.
According to reports, however, there is one person who survived the accident. This survivor was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries and is receiving medical care there. Little is known so far about the person's exact health status.
Indian authorities have already launched an official investigation to find the reason for the crash. Experts are now searching the accident site for clues and the flight data recorder. This is intended to clarify whether a technical defect or human error led to the tragedy.
Accidents involving military aircraft are always a great burden for the affected regions and the military. Further details are expected in the coming days while the country mourns the deceased soldiers.
