Raid on a secret beauty salon in Vienna using expired products
Authorities in Vienna have uncovered an illegal beauty salon that was operating secretly, making it the seventh of its kind discovered this year. The operation was coordinated between the rapid response team of the City of Vienna, the police, and the AMS employment service.
The raid was carried out on Thursday in the Favoriten district, where authorities found a makeshift beauty salon offering unauthorized cosmetic procedures. Walter Hiller, head of the rapid intervention team, said: "Vienna is not a place for dangerous cosmetic experiments."
Upon entering the place, the inspectors found a worker performing a beauty treatment for a client. During the inspection, the team discovered expired products and spoiled materials stored inside a refrigerator, in addition to used cosmetic tools that had exceeded their expiration date.
It was revealed that the woman who was performing the treatments had no medical qualifications or legal licenses to carry out this type of procedure. Authorities also confiscated a laser device for tattoo removal, which is equipment that is legally allowed to be used only by certified medical professionals.
All tools and materials present at the location have been confiscated. Authorities reminded residents that unlicensed cosmetic procedures pose a significant health risk. It is noted that the last similar case was detected last October in the Alsergrund district, where Botox and filler injections were being performed inside a nail salon.
