The police have released a picture of a missing woman from Hoofddorp, feared to have been kidnapped after her car was found.
Dutch police have launched an urgent investigation after finding the car of a 49-year-old woman from Hoofddorp who went missing on Wednesday morning. Authorities said they fear the woman may have been abducted and released her photo asking the public for any information that could help locate her.
According to the police, the woman left her home on Mosselplaat Street in Hoofddorp around 8:30 AM heading to her work in Beverwijk in her black BMW 530e. The car was later found abandoned in the Getsewoud-Noord neighborhood in Nieuw-Vennep, about ten minutes' drive from her home.
Local media NH Nieuws reported that the police raided a house on Oosterschelde street, just two blocks away from the woman's home, on Wednesday as part of the investigation into her disappearance. Reports indicated that the family living in the house shares part of the name of the missing woman's family, but the police did not confirm any connection between them.
The missing woman is 1.65 meters tall, has light brown skin, a medium build, dark brown eyes, and long dark brown hair. She was wearing dark-colored clothes on October 8.
The police said that several investigative teams, including a large-scale investigation team, are working intensively on the case. Authorities did not disclose why they believe the woman may have been abducted, but they urged anyone with information or recordings from home surveillance cameras (Ring) or dashcams to contact the police immediately.
