Discovery of another illegal beauty clinic in Vienna
Another illegal beauty clinic has been uncovered in Vienna, marking the sixth case of this kind this year. Authorities conducted an inspection in the Alsergrund district after receiving several reports of suspicious activities at a nail salon. The emergency measures group collaborated with the police, financial police, and municipal officials to carry out the raid.
Inside the salon, investigators discovered that Botox and filler treatments were being offered. These procedures are subject to strict regulation in Austria and may only be performed by licensed doctors or properly trained medical specialists. Providing such services without a permit poses a significant health risk.
During the inspection, authorities caught a person impersonating a doctor while treating a client. The authorities immediately confiscated the medications and equipment used. Several charges were also filed, including violating the medical practice law, practicing fraud, and illegal employment.
The emergency measures group is leading coordinated inspection campaigns across Vienna to uncover unlicensed clinics. According to its director, Walter Hillerer, closing each clinic is a step towards protecting people from dangerous and unregulated medical practices. He emphasized that such illegal operations pose serious risks to people's health.
Heller urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities immediately. He explained that the speed of reports helps authorities intervene quickly and prevent further harm that may be caused by unqualified individuals offering dangerous cosmetic procedures.
