Stabbing attack at a refugee center - a 23-year-old man injured
A violent brawl broke out on Tuesday evening at a refugee center in the Tamsweg area of the Lungau district, resulting in a man being injured after a knife attack. According to the police, the dispute began around 8:20 PM between two Ukrainian families residing at the center. Authorities believe that alcohol played a significant role in escalating the situation.
What started as a heated verbal argument quickly escalated into physical violence. A 20-year-old man, who was intoxicated, slapped a 23-year-old man during the altercation, then pulled out a knife and attacked him, resulting in injuries, but they were not life-threatening.
The people present at the scene provided first aid to the injured person before the emergency teams arrived. He was transported by ambulance to Tamsvigh Hospital, where his wounds were treated without the need for surgery.
