Ronaldo ignites the atmosphere in Austria before Al Nassr's training camp
Al Nassr Saudi Club is preparing to hold its training camp in Austria from July 20 to August 3, at the luxurious "Brandlhof" hotel in the city of "Saalfelden". The club, which includes Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, has been facing a wave of significant public and media interest since the announcement of the camp.
Ronaldo, who has won the title of Best Player in the World five times, joined the club at the beginning of 2023 and recently extended his contract until 2027, which has increased the anticipation around his appearances with the team in Austria. The presence of the Portuguese star usually attracts exceptional interest from fans, as was recently the case in Munich during his participation with his national team in the Nations League. This significant interest has led organizers in Austria to take strict security measures, especially since Ronaldo has 16 staff members dedicated to serving him at the club, including four personal bodyguards, according to the British newspaper "The Sun."
Al-Nassr is set to play three friendly matches during its training camp. The first match will be on July 26 against the Austrian fourth-division team St. Johann, with an expected attendance of between 2000 and 2500 fans. Ticket sales will start soon online, hoping that Ronaldo will participate in the match, according to statements by Hannes Rottenspacher, the sports director at Saalfelden. After that, Al-Nassr will face the French team Toulouse on July 30, and then the English team Sheffield United on August 2, with both matches taking place in Grödig, which has a capacity of about 5000 spectators.
The most prominent question remains: Will Ronaldo actually participate in all three matches? Fans hope to see him on the field in every encounter. Interestingly, the impact of Ronaldo's presence even reached the German club "Hannover 96", which had to change its training location while staying at the same hotel. Due to the rainy weather conditions, the hotel management prevented "Hannover 96" from using the adjacent pitch to avoid any damage that could affect the training of "Al-Nassr".
As a result, the "Hannover" team moved its training to a sports school field about ten minutes away by bus. Eyes remain on how "Al-Nassr", led by Ronaldo and Senegalese star Sadio Mane, will leave the hotel field before "Borussia Dortmund" takes over the place for its training camp from August 4 to 9.
