Police Find $6 Million Worth of Cocaine in North Queensland
Police in north Queensland, Australia, have discovered a large amount of illegal drugs in a remote coastal area. Packages of cocaine, estimated to be worth around $6 million, were found near a boat ramp in the Whitsundays. The discovery has sparked a major police investigation in the region.
The drugs were found in two different spots. Some packages were floating in the sea, while others were located on the shore. Interestingly, the packages on land were found near the remains of a truck that had been completely destroyed by fire.
Authorities believe the isolated location was chosen to avoid attention. The Whitsundays is famous for its beautiful islands and tourism, but the area where the drugs were found is quiet and difficult to reach. Police are now trying to determine if the burnt-out truck is directly connected to the drug smuggling operation.
At this stage, no one has been arrested in connection with the find. Forensic experts are currently examining the evidence, and local officers are searching the surrounding area for more clues. Police have asked the public to report any suspicious boats or vehicles seen near the boat ramp in recent days.
