13 million euros for digital innovations in the Austrian healthcare system
The Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) has launched a new funding program for the "Digital Health" sector. A total of 13 million euros is available to provide financial support for innovative projects in the healthcare sector. The goal is to advance digitalization in Austrian hospitals, medical practices, and care facilities.
Through this financial assistance, new technological solutions are to be developed that make the daily work of medical staff easier. The focus is primarily on digital tools that assist in diagnosis or make the management of patient data more efficient. Applications for telemedicine are also a key focus of the funding.
Digitalization is playing an increasingly important role in the quality of medical care in Austria. With the funds provided, the FFG aims to ensure that Austrian companies and research institutions remain internationally competitive. At the same time, patients are expected to benefit from more modern and faster treatment.
Interested companies and research teams can submit their project proposals to the FFG. Experts will then evaluate which innovations have the greatest potential for the domestic healthcare system. With this step, Austria is sending a clear signal for the future of digital medicine.
