Former Rapid player Janis Antiste moves to Poland
Former Rapid Vienna professional Janis Antiste is facing a new challenge in his football career. The French striker will be changing clubs for the upcoming season in order to gain more match practice.
Antiste was most recently under contract with Sassuolo. It has now been announced that he will be loaned to the Polish runners-up, Górnik Zabrze, for the coming season. At his new club, he will meet a prominent figure: the German World Cup winner Lukas Podolski is active there as a player.
For the 21-year-old Frenchman, this move is an important milestone. During his time in Vienna with Rapid, he was already able to gain experience in the Austrian Bundesliga. Now, he is set to prove in the Polish Ekstraklasa that he is an asset to the attack.
A loan move is a common solution for all parties involved. Sassuolo wants the young player to continue his development at an ambitious club like Górnik Zabrze. Fans in Poland can look forward to seeing whether Antiste can provide goals alongside Podolski.
