13 million euros for digital innovations in the Austrian healthcare system
The Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) has launched a new funding program for the "Digital Health" sector. A total of 13 million euros is available to support digital innovations in healthcare. The goal of the initiative is to make medical care more efficient and accessible through modern technologies.
The program is aimed at companies, research institutions, and start-ups working on digital solutions for patients and medical staff. Funding will be provided for projects that develop, for example, artificial intelligence, digital diagnostics, or new platforms for patient care. This is intended to further strengthen Austria as a location for health technologies.
Digitalization is playing an increasingly important role in the healthcare sector. Through new technologies, diseases can be detected earlier and treatments can be better tailored to the individual patient. In addition, administrative processes in hospitals and medical practices are to be simplified through digital systems in order to relieve the burden on staff.
Interested organizations can submit their project proposals to the FFG. Experts from the Research Promotion Agency will evaluate the applications based on their technical feasibility and their benefit to the healthcare system. The initiative is an important step toward ensuring the quality of medical care in Austria in the long term and keeping it at the cutting edge of technology.
