Difficult start to the season: Austria Wien under pressure after defeat against WAC
The start of the season in the Austrian Football Bundesliga has been disappointing for Austria Wien so far. Last Sunday, the team had to accept a clear 0:3 defeat against Wolfsberger AC (WAC). The match in Wolfsberg did not go according to plan from the Viennese perspective, as they fell short of expectations in all areas.
The performance of the team from Favoriten was weak throughout the entire match. Gaps were particularly evident in the defense, which WAC consistently exploited. In attack, too, Austria was barely able to create dangerous moments to put the opponent under any serious pressure. This defeat is now causing frustration among the players and the coaching staff.
The sporting situation is particularly critical for the traditional club from Vienna, as important matches are coming up soon. The team is currently preparing for the first leg of the third qualifying round. There is little time left to analyze the mistakes from the match against Wolfsberg and to make the necessary adjustments.
Whether Austria will find its form in time will become clear in the coming days. The fans are hoping for a significant improvement in performance in order to collect points again in the next encounters and regain confidence.
