Tourist in critical condition – Jet blast hurls 52-year-old to the ground with full force
A 52-year-old tourist has suffered critical injuries after being violently thrown to the ground by the powerful blast from a jet engine. The serious accident occurred while she was near an aircraft at an airport in Austria.
According to the report, the woman was exposed to the enormous force generated by the aircraft’s engines. The jet blast suddenly knocked her off her feet and sent her crashing heavily onto the ground.
The impact left the 52-year-old seriously injured. Emergency services were called to the scene and she was taken to hospital for treatment. Her condition was described as critical.
Jet blast refers to the extremely powerful stream of air and exhaust produced by an aircraft’s engines. Although it can be difficult to judge from a distance, the force can be strong enough to knock people over and move objects.
The incident highlights the serious dangers of standing too close to an operating aircraft. Airport safety procedures are designed to keep passengers and other people well away from areas where powerful engine exhaust can pose a risk.
The accident has also raised renewed concerns about the importance of following safety instructions around aircraft, particularly during takeoff, engine testing and other situations in which engines are operating at high power.
