30 Years of the Europa-Forum Wachau: An Anniversary for the European Future
From May 18th to May 22nd, 2026, a special event will take place in Lower Austria: the Europa-Forum Wachau is celebrating its 30th anniversary. The event is considered one of the most important platforms for political dialogue in Europe and brings together decision-makers from all over the world.
For three decades, the forum has served as a venue for exchanging ideas on current European challenges. This year, high-ranking guests from politics, business, and society are once again expected to discuss the future of the European Union. The venue, the picturesque Göttweig Abbey in the Wachau region, provides a festive setting for these discussions.
The anniversary program places a strong focus on current developments in Europe. Participants will address topics such as security, economic cooperation, and the strengthening of democratic cohesion. The goal of the forum is to provide new impetus for European policy through direct dialogue.
The event underscores Austria's importance as a bridge-builder within Europe. Through the forum's long-standing tradition, the Wachau has established itself as a permanent meeting place for European visionaries. The organizers expect that the results of this year's discussions will provide important impulses for the coming years.
