ID Austria: Setup Assistance & Cycling Tour
Austrians will soon be able to receive support in setting up their ID Austria to handle administrative tasks digitally in the future. Additionally, the national cycling tour through seven federal states is set to begin. In football, Austria Vienna concluded its pre-season preparations with a draw.
ID Austria (the digital proof of identity) allows documents such as driver's licenses to be stored on a smartphone and official business to be conducted online. A new service tour offers on-site help to activate the app and overcome technical hurdles. This aims to save citizens tedious trips to government offices, as many applications can be completed directly from home.
The "Lidl Tour of Austria" leads the cycling peloton through seven of the nine federal states. Alongside six international "WorldTeams" (top-tier cycling teams), an Austrian national team is participating in the tour for the first time since 2004. Fans can follow the professionals along the route through most of the country.
In football, Austria Vienna drew 1-1 with the Hungarian club Debreceni VSC at the end of their training camp. Furthermore, national player Verena Hanshaw is returning to Austria after 16 years abroad and is joining the Austria women's team.
