Day of Parliamentary Research: Science meets politics in Vienna
On June 16, 2026, the annual "Day of Parliamentary Research" took place in the Austrian Parliament. The Parliamentary Administration invited experts, researchers, and interested parties to present current scientific findings on the work of the representative body.
This year, the event focused on the topics of emotion and reason in political debate. Participants discussed how parliamentary processes can be better understood and optimized through scientific analysis. In doing so, they examined the influence of human behavior on legislation.
The event serves as an important interface between the academic world and practical politics. The exchange is intended to provide new perspectives for the work of members of parliament. The goal is to strengthen the transparency and quality of democratic decision-making in Austria in the long term.
The "Day of Parliamentary Research" has now established itself as a fixture in the parliament's calendar. It offers a platform for an open dialogue about the challenges of modern democracy. The parliament intends to continue promoting exchange with the scientific community in the future in order to provide well-founded support for current social developments.
