New Destinations and Offers: News from the Austrian Travel World
Austrian Airlines (AUA) has exciting news for the upcoming travel season. The national airline is expanding its network and now flies once a week directly from Vienna to Ponta Delgada in the Azores. This is good news for all vacationers who want to discover nature in the Atlantic. Additionally, there is an important change in the company's leadership: Till Streichert has been the new Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Austrian Airlines since September.
For spontaneous travelers, AUA is now offering a special program: so-called "blind booking." With this offer, customers book a flight from Vienna but only find out exactly where the journey is going after payment. Prices for a round-trip flight within Europe start at 99 euros in Economy Class. Those looking for more comfort can choose Business Class from 229 euros. This model is particularly popular with young travelers who are flexible.
There are also interesting developments in the travel industry. Mirko Lukic has founded a new tour operator called "Austrian Travel Boutique." The company focuses on high-quality long-haul travel and luxury cruises. At the same time, other providers are investing in training: Dertour Austria recently organized a training session for travel experts on a yacht in Croatia. The goal is to further improve the quality of advice for Austrian customers.
Sports fans in Austria are also preparing for major events. The fan group "Red Hot Austrian Fans" is planning a long trip to the USA to experience the Football World Cup there. But there are also highlights domestically: New travel guides are already available for the Austrian Formula 1 Grand Prix. Experts recommend that visitors camp directly at the race track to experience the special atmosphere and festival feeling up close.
In addition to the travel and sports news, there are cultural highlights in Vienna. The well-known Swiss pianist Francesco Piemontesi will give a concert at the Vienna Musikverein. Such events show that Austria remains an important center for international art and culture. The combination of new flight connections, attractive travel offers, and major events ensures a diverse program in the coming months.
