13 million euros for digital innovations in the Austrian healthcare system
The Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) has launched a new funding program for the "Digital Health" sector. A total of 13 million euros is available to provide financial support for innovative projects in the healthcare sector. The goal of the initiative is to advance digitalization in Austrian hospitals, medical practices, and care facilities.
With this program, the federal government aims to promote the development of new technologies that make everyday life easier for patients and medical staff. This includes, among other things, digital solutions for patient care, improved data processing in medicine, and new applications for telemedicine. Through this financial support, research and development in this area are to be accelerated.
Companies, start-ups, and research institutions can apply for the funding immediately. The FFG places particular emphasis on projects that offer a clear benefit to the healthcare system and can sustainably improve the quality of medical care in Austria. The submission deadline for the first grant applications is already underway.
Experts see the digitalization of the healthcare system as a great opportunity for Austria as a business location. Through these investments, not only are technological advances to be achieved, but the efficiency of medical care is also to be increased. The FFG hopes that these 13 million euros will allow many new ideas to be successfully put into practice.
