Better Health Through Exercise: New Initiative for Cycling Clubs in Lower Austria
The Austrian Health Insurance Fund (ÖGK) and the association Cycling Austria have launched a new project to promote cycling in Lower Austria. The so-called "club coaching" is intended to support sports clubs in making their offerings more attractive and healthier. The goal is to motivate people of all ages to engage in more physical activity in their everyday lives.
The program focuses on the connection between sports and preventive healthcare. Through professional consulting, clubs learn how to better tailor their training programs to the needs of their members. This is not just about athletic success, but above all about the long-term promotion of physical and mental health.
Harald J. Mayer, President of Cycling Austria, emphasizes the importance of this collaboration. He sees cycling clubs as important community hubs where physical activity meets social interaction. With the support of the ÖGK, the clubs gain the necessary knowledge to further expand their role as health promoters in the region.
The project is aimed at all cycling clubs in Lower Austria that wish to modernize their structures. Those responsible hope that this initiative will lead even more people to discover the joy of cycling. In the long term, the program is intended to help strengthen general health awareness among the population.
