Better Health Through Sport: New Project for Cycling Clubs in Lower Austria
The Austrian Health Insurance Fund (ÖGK) and the association Cycling Austria have launched a new initiative to promote cycling in Lower Austria. The goal of the project is to provide targeted support to clubs and to place the health of their members at the center of their activities.
As part of a special "club coaching" program, sports clubs will receive professional advice. This focuses not only on athletic performance but, above all, on promoting health in everyday life. Experts will show clubs how to make their offerings more attractive and inspire more people to take up cycling.
Harald J. Mayer, President of Cycling Austria, emphasized the importance of this collaboration. Through the partnership with the ÖGK, the aim is to strengthen awareness of an active lifestyle. Cycling is an ideal sport for training the cardiovascular system and improving overall fitness.
The program is aimed at existing cycling clubs throughout Lower Austria. Interested clubs can register for the coaching starting now. The organizers hope that this measure will lead to more people in Austria regularly getting on their bikes in the long term, thereby making an important contribution to their own health.
