European Cup Week: Where football fans can watch the Austrian clubs
An exciting week lies ahead for Austrian football fans. Four domestic clubs – LASK, Red Bull Salzburg, Rapid Vienna, and Austria Vienna – are currently fighting for a place in the coveted league phases of the European competitions. For the clubs, these matches are of great importance not only in sporting terms but also financially.
The big question for many supporters, however, is where the matches will be broadcast. Since the broadcasting rights for the various European competitions are divided among different channels and streaming services, many fans are currently confused. It is not always immediately apparent which match is being shown on free-to-air television and for which encounter a paid subscription is required.
Experts advise viewers to find out exactly about the respective schedule in advance. While some matches can be seen on public broadcasters or major private channels, other games are offered exclusively via digital streaming platforms. This fragmentation of rights often makes it difficult for fans to keep track.
The coming days will show which of the four Austrian teams will make the leap into the next round. For the clubs, it is about representing the domestic football landscape worthily on the international stage. Fans should therefore keep an eye on the official broadcasting schedules of the channels and the announcements of the clubs so as not to miss any of the action.
